Licence 2 Test drive

I am looking forward to getting my own blog up and running. We started up one at work and it was a great way of staying in the loop and keeping informed. I am sure I will learn a lot from my fellow colleagues too and hopefully might teach someone else something new too.

Easter Camping at Kenilworth Homestead April 2009

Good Friday we arrived at Kenilworth Homestead - absolutely beautiful countryside. With 8 adults and 9 kids we were assured our annual Easter camping trip was going to be a success.

After setting up camp we discovered right in the middle of our spot was a green ants nest and too tired to move spots we figured all would be ok. One kid bitten on the behind and toe and soon the kids were retreating to our comfy camper trailer with its lovely carpeted floor and dry from the rain.

The kids made Easter baskets ready for the Easter bunny. We enjoyed listening to the music by the "Budgie Smugglers" on the Saturday night. Rain, rain and more rain - it was not looking good.

By Easter Sunday it was time for a Sunday drive - more to entertain the kids and get them away from our now very boggy campsite.

A few creek crossings were travelled with success - with one bridge crossing quite flooded it provided the opportunity for the girls to clean off some mud.

We continued on to Peter's Creek where I had my first experience with an unwelcome LEECH!!!! Needless to say I did not enjoy this experience whatsoever.

Sunday Night - Our last night and the kids enjoyed playing charades, toasting marshmallows and having sparklers. The sky was gorgeous - so many stars we were looking forward to the week ahead.....until that is.....we awoke to more rain.

Last minute decision to pack up and the race was on. The rain did not let up ONCE!!!. Kids were piled into cars soaking wet and muddy. But apart from the rain - we still had a great time and would definitely head back there again.
